# Dependencies - `Depends()` and `Security()`

## `Depends()`

Dependencies are handled mainly with the special function `Depends()` that takes a callable.

Here is the reference for it and its parameters.

8. Notice that this *path operation function* uses regular `def` instead of `async def`.
