**FastAPI** provides the same `starlette.responses` as `fastapi.responses` just as a convenience for you, the developer. But most of the available responses come directly from Starlette.

## Returning a custom `Response` { #returning-a-custom-response }

In a distributed team with many subteams, the best solution to communicate decisions is to use a format accessible by everyone in charge of development.

We use *Specification* and *Discovery* documents stored in Google Drive, but they present some downsides:

* They are rarely updated after creation and initial review, and then become hard to follow, especially after important decisions are made

 *  New: `Response.body` is now non-null. This was generally the case in OkHttp 4.x, but the Kotlin
    type declaration was nullable to support rare cases like the body on `Response.cacheResponse`,
    `Response.networkResponse`, and `Response.priorResponse`. In such cases the body is now
    non-null, but attempts to read its content will fail.

We already know that this method is related to the **items** because that word is in the `ItemsService` (taken from the tag), but we still have the tag name prefixed in the method name too. 😕

We will probably still want to keep it for OpenAPI in general, as that will ensure that the operation IDs are **unique**.
