# Extending OpenAPI { #extending-openapi }

There are some cases where you might need to modify the generated OpenAPI schema.

In this section you will see how.

## The normal process { #the-normal-process }

The normal (default) process, is as follows.

A `FastAPI` application (instance) has an `.openapi()` method that is expected to return the OpenAPI schema.

     * setException() will be a no-op because the Future is already done.

Ideally, resync should not be initiated for multiple buckets simultaneously - progress of the syncing can be monitored by looking at `mc replicate resync status alias/bucket --remote-bucket <arn>`. In the event that resync operation failed to replicate some versions, they would be picked up by the healing mechanism in-built as part of the scanner.
