# Automatic Site Replication

This feature allows multiple independent MinIO sites (or clusters) that are using the same external IDentity Provider (IDP) to be configured as replicas. In this situation the set of replica sites are referred to as peer sites or just sites. When site-replication is enabled on a set of sites, the following changes are replicated to all other sites:

- Creation and deletion of buckets and objects

 * those tasks.

 * <p>Submitted tasks have a happens-before order as defined in the Java Language Specification.
 * Tasks execute with the same happens-before order that the function calls to {@link #submit} and
 * {@link #submitAsync} that submitted those tasks had.

A single HTTP call may require follow-up requests to be made to handle authentication challenges, redirects, and HTTP-layer timeouts. In such cases multiple connections, requests, and responses may be attempted. Follow-ups are another reason a single call may trigger multiple events of the same type.
