# Automatic Site Replication

This feature allows multiple independent MinIO sites (or clusters) that are using the same external IDentity Provider (IDP) to be configured as replicas. In this situation the set of replica sites are referred to as peer sites or just sites. When site-replication is enabled on a set of sites, the following changes are replicated to all other sites:

  1. Testing of traffic management policies (e.g., routing, retries, timeouts).
  1. Validation of load balancing configurations.
  1. Specific `istioctl proxy-config` commands being tested: `bootstrap`, `cluster`, `endpoint`, `listener`, `route`, `all`.
- **Setup**: The main test setup in this folder initializes the Istio control plane and configures the Pilot component.

- All versioned buckets maintain the same order for "versions" for each object after being decommissioned to the other pools.
- A pool interrupted during the decommission process, such as for a cluster restart, resumes from where it left off.
