## Managing hermetic Python

To make sure that TensorFlow's build is reproducible, behaves uniformly across
supported platforms (Linux, Windows, MacOS) and is properly isolated from
specifics of a local system, we rely on hermetic Python (see
[rules_python](https://github.com/bazelbuild/rules_python)) for all build
and test commands executed via Bazel. This means that your system Python
installation will be ignored during the build and Python interpreter itself

    graph optimizer options are now specified via
    `GraphOptions.OptimizerOptions`.
*   `ASSERT_OK` / `EXPECT_OK` macros conflicted with external projects, so they
    were renamed `TF_ASSERT_OK`, `TF_EXPECT_OK`. The existing macros are
    currently maintained for short-term compatibility but will be removed.

Your code needs to run on [all versions of Java that Gradle supports](platforms/documentation/docs/src/docs/userguide/releases/compatibility.adoc) and across all supported operating systems (macOS, Windows, Linux).
