okhttp-tls/src/main/kotlin/okhttp3/tls/HandshakeCertificates.kt
* * The client's handshake certificates must include a set of trusted root certificates. They will * be used to authenticate the server's certificate chain. Typically this is a set of well-known * root certificates that is distributed with the HTTP client or its platform. It may be * augmented by certificates private to an organization or service. * * ### Client Authentication *

docs/en/docs/deployment/https.md
It is a project from the Linux Foundation. It provides **HTTPS certificates for free**, in an automated way. These certificates use all the standard cryptographic security, and are short-lived (about 3 months), so the **security is actually better** because of their reduced lifespan. The domains are securely verified and the certificates are generated automatically. This also allows automating the renewal of these certificates.

* * Pinning certificates limits your server team's abilities to update their TLS certificates. By * pinning certificates, you take on additional operational complexity and limit your ability to * migrate between certificate authorities. Do not use certificate pinning without the blessing of * your server's TLS administrator! * * ### Note about self-signed certificates *
