Então eu descobri que existia um padrão para documentar APIs, utilizando JSON (ou YAML, uma extensão do JSON) chamado Swagger. E tinha uma interface web para APIs Swagger já criada. Então, sendo capaz de gerar documentação Swagger para uma API poderia permitir utilizar essa interface web automaticamente. Em algum ponto, Swagger foi dado para a Fundação Linux, e foi renomeado OpenAPI.
