## Liveness probe

This probe always responds with '200 OK'. Only fails if 'etcd' is configured and unreachable. When liveness probe fails, Kubernetes like platforms restart the container.

You can configure where your app is located in a `pyproject.toml` file like:

```toml
[tool.fastapi]
entrypoint = "main:app"
```

That `entrypoint` will tell the `fastapi` command that it should import the app like:

```python
from main import app
```

If your code was structured like:

`secrets.compare_digest()` needs to take `bytes` or a `str` that only contains ASCII characters (the ones in English), this means it wouldn't work with characters like `á`, as in `Sebastián`.

To handle that, we first convert the `username` and `password` to `bytes` encoding them with UTF-8.

## Response Status Code { #response-status-code }

You can define the (HTTP) `status_code` to be used in the response of your *path operation*.

You can pass directly the `int` code, like `404`.

But if you don't remember what each number code is for, you can use the shortcut constants in `status`:

## Running Microbenchmarks

Running via an IDE is not supported as the results are meaningless
because we have no control over the JVM running the benchmarks.

If you want to run a specific benchmark class like, say,
`MemoryStatsBenchmark`, you can use `--args`:

Everything in the `'` gets sent on the command line to JMH.

The main thing you need to run a **FastAPI** application (or any other ASGI application) in a remote server machine is an ASGI server program like **Uvicorn**, this is the one that comes by default in the `fastapi` command.
