## What we expect from contributors

1. **Understand the content you submit, PRs as well as issues, and be able to explain it.** Our goal is for humans to use AI tools intentionally and with full control, rather than merely serving as proxies for AI agents. If you cannot explain the reason for something, we will assume you do not understand it, and the PR or issue will likely be closed.

* Check if you can understand what is the **purpose** and use case of the person asking.

* Then check if the question (the vast majority are questions) is **clear**.

You should instead rely on your own legal counsel or licensing specialists to audit and ensure your application is in compliance with the licenses of MinIO and all other open-source projects with which your application integrates or interacts. We understand that AGPLv3 licensing is complex and nuanced. It is for that reason we strongly encourage using experts in licensing to make any such determinations around compliance instead of relying on apocryphal or anecdotal advice.
