# OpenAPI Callbacks

You could create an API with a *path operation* that could trigger a request to an *external API* created by someone else (probably the same developer that would be *using* your API).

- sidecar interception is enabled if:
    - "istio-init" container is not present in the pod.
    - istio-proxy container exists and
        - does not have DISABLE_ENVOY environment variable (which triggers proxyless mode)
        - has a istio-proxy container, with first 2 args "proxy" and "sidecar" - or less then 2 args, or first arg not proxy.
        - "sidecar.istio.io/inject" is not false

    * <a href="https://fastapi.tiangolo.com/tutorial/bigger-applications/" class="external-link" target="_blank">Tutorial - Bigger Applications</a>.

    *   `converter.convert()` no longer returns a `tf.function`. Now the
        function must be accessed from the saved model.
    *   The `converter.calibrate()` method has been removed. To trigger
        calibration, a `calibration_input_fn` should be provided to
        `converter.convert()`.

    *   Fix accidental quadratic graph construction cost in graph-mode

When building web APIs with FastAPI, if there's an error in our code, FastAPI will normally contain it to the single request that triggered the error. 🛡

The client will get a **500 Internal Server Error** for that request, but the application will continue working for the next requests instead of just crashing completely.

### Bigger Applications

If you followed the section about creating [Bigger Applications with Multiple Files](../tutorial/bigger-applications.md){.internal-link target=_blank}, your `Dockerfile` might instead look like:
