manifests/charts/README.md
In the examples below, by default this is the `istio-control` namespace. Pod annotations can also be used to select a different 'environment'. ## Installing The new installer is intended to be modular and very explicit about what is installed. It has far more steps than the Istio installer - but each step is smaller and focused on a specific feature, and can be performed by different people/teams at different times.

architecture/ambient/ztunnel.md
Ztunnel was not designed to be a feature-rich data plane. Quite the opposite - an *aggressively* small feature set is the key feature that makes ztunnel viable. It very intentionally does not offer L7 (HTTP) functionality, for instance, which would likely violate some of the goals above, without contributing to them.

In most embedded usages, there are particular

architecture/networking/pilot.md
There are a few ways to prevent these: * Only pass in to the generation logic the cache key itself, so no other unaccounted inputs can be used. Unfortunately, this has not been done for any generators today. * Be very, very careful. * The cache has a builtin test, enabled with `UNSAFE_PILOT_ENABLE_RUNTIME_ASSERTIONS=true`, that runs in CI. This will panic if any key is written to with a different value. #### Partial Computations
