    This tutorial previously used <a href="https://pyjwt.readthedocs.io/" class="external-link" target="_blank">PyJWT</a>.

    But it was updated to use Python-jose instead as it provides all the features from PyJWT plus some extras that you might need later when building integrations with other tools.

Let's now see the file `sql_app/models.py`.

### Create Peewee models for our data

Now create the Peewee models (classes) for `User` and `Item`.

This is the same you would do if you followed the Peewee tutorial and updated the models to have the same data as in the SQLAlchemy tutorial.

    Peewee also uses the term "**model**" to refer to these classes and instances that interact with the database.
