    switch expression
    triggers execution of the statements of the associated case;
    the other cases are skipped.
    If no case matches and there is a "default" case,
    its statements are executed.
    There can be at most one default case and it may appear anywhere in the
    "switch" statement.

  8. api/README

    Files in this directory are data for Go's API checker ("go tool api", in src/cmd/api).

    Each file is a list of API features, one per line.

    go1.txt (and similarly named files) are frozen once a version has been
    shipped. Each file adds new lines but does not remove any.

    except.txt lists features that may disappear without breaking true
    compatibility.

    Starting with go1.19.txt, each API feature line must end in "#nnnnn"

    // invocation of F then behaves like a call to panic, terminating G's
    // execution and running any deferred functions. This continues until all
    // functions in the executing goroutine have stopped, in reverse order. At
    // that point, the program is terminated with a non-zero exit code. This
    // termination sequence is called panicking and can be controlled by the
    // built-in function recover.
