> NOTE: To deploy MinIO on with persistent storage, you must map local persistent directories from the host OS to the container using the `podman -v` option. For example, `-v /mnt/data:/data` maps the host OS drive at `/mnt/data` to `/data` on the container.

## macOS

Use the following commands to run a standalone MinIO server on macOS.

To create a MinIO container with persistent storage, you need to map local persistent directories from the host OS to virtual config. To do this, run the below commands

### GNU/Linux and macOS

  -v ~/minio/data:/data \

## Advanced options

### Change default FTP port

Default port '8021' can be changed via

```
--ftp="address=:3021"
```

### Change FTP passive port range

By default FTP requests OS to give a free port automatically, however you may want to restrict
this to specific ports in certain restricted environments via

```
--ftp="passive-port-range=30000-40000"
```

### Change default SFTP port

The command takes no flags
