architecture/standards/0008-use-nullaway.md
While there are competing ways to represent absence (`Optional`, "Null Object" pattern, method overloads), it is unlikely that we'll be able to remove `null` entirely. After migrating to Java 8, we can use pluggable type checkers to ensure that our annotations are consistent, and there are no missing null checks. ## Decision Use "NullAway" in JSpecify mode to check for null-related errors in Java code.

guava/src/com/google/common/base/Converter.java
* in the presence of LegacyConverter, at least in the case of users who view the converter as a * Function<A, B> or who call convertAll (and for any checkers that apply @PolyNull-like semantics * to Converter.convert). So maybe we don't want to think too hard about how to prevent our * checkers from issuing errors related to LegacyConverter, since it turns out that * LegacyConverter does violate the assumptions we make elsewhere. */
