futures/failureaccess/pom.xml
InternalFutures. Most users will never need to use this artifact. Its classes are conceptually a part of Guava, but they're in this separate artifact so that Android libraries can use them without pulling in all of Guava (just as they can use ListenableFuture by depending on the listenablefuture artifact). </description> <build> <plugins> <plugin> <artifactId>maven-jar-plugin</artifactId>

conflict with the copy of ListenableFuture in guava itself. If users are using an older version of Guava or a build system other than Gradle, they may see class conflicts. android/pom.xml
JDK8 APIs. However, I assume (but did not confirm) that we'd have the same issue with our -android builds, which need animal-sniffer so that they can check that we're sticking to JDK6-like APIs. So instead, we use javac9, which doesn't lead to this error. --> <compilerArgs combine.children="append">
