[Grafana](https://grafana.com/) allows you to query, visualize, alert on and understand your metrics no matter where they are stored. Create, explore, and share dashboards with your team and foster a data driven culture.

## Prerequisites

- Prometheus and MinIO configured as explained in [document here](https://github.com/minio/minio/blob/master/docs/metrics/prometheus/README.md).

- Better security: separate Istio components reside in different namespaces, allowing different teams or
roles to manage different parts of Istio. For example, a security team would maintain the
root CA and policy, a telemetry team may only have access to Prometheus,
and a different team may maintain the control plane components (which are highly security sensitive).

The install is organized in 'environments' - each environment consists of a set of components

## For the release team

At the start of a release development cycle, the contents of `next` should be deleted
and replaced with those of `initial`. From the repo root:

    > cd doc
    > rm -r next/*
    > cp -r initial/* next

# generated artifacts like .whl files, and "script.log", from the script.
# Note that files created under Docker will be owned by "root".
ls build_output
```
