The *Secure Channel* splits the object content into chunks of a fixed size of `65536` bytes. The last chunk may be smaller to avoid adding additional overhead and is treated specially to prevent truncation attacks. ### Install Istio CRDs

This is the first step of the installation. Please do not remove or edit any CRD - config currently requires

### Profiles

Istio Helm charts have a concept of a `profile`, which is a bundled collection of value presets.
These can be set with `--set profile=<profile>`.
For example, the `demo` profile offers a preset configuration to try out Istio in a test environment, with additional features enabled and lowered resource requirements.

For consistency, the same profiles are used across each chart, even if they do not impact a given chart.

## How are drives used for Erasure Code?

MinIO divides the drives you provide into erasure-coding sets of *2 to 16* drives.  Therefore, the number of drives you present must be a multiple of one of these numbers.  Each object is written to a single erasure-coding set.
