We'd like to capture our architectural decisions about the build tool as [Architectural Decision Records (ADRs)](https://adr.github.io/).
For now we just have this global repository of ADRs.
If we see fit, we can break these out to per-platform ones, or keep a hybrid approach to having global and platform-specific ADSs.

Our aim is to keep the process lightweight and approachable.

## Ambient mode details

Fundamentally, this component is responsible for the following:

### Install Control plane

This can run in any cluster. A mesh should have at least one cluster should run Pilot or equivalent XDS server,
and it is recommended to have Pilot running in each region and in multiple availability zones for multi cluster.

firewall-cmd --get-active-zones
```

This command gets the active zone(s). Now, apply port rules to the relevant zones returned above. For example if the zone is `public`, use
