// can have their pods stopped for an update at any given time. The update // starts by stopping at most 30% of those DaemonSet pods and then brings // up new DaemonSet pods in their place. Once the new pods are available, // it then proceeds onto other DaemonSet pods, thus ensuring that at least // 70% of original number of DaemonSet pods are available at all times during // the update. // +optional

CHANGELOG/CHANGELOG-1.2.md
* .spec.strategy.rollingUpdate.minReadySeconds is moved to .spec.minReadySeconds * DaemonSet was Alpha in 1.1 (though it had apiVersion extensions/v1beta1) and was disabled by default. Due to some non-backward-compatible API changes, any DaemonSet objects you created in 1.1 won’t work with in the 1.2 release.

cni/README.md
Specifically: - The CNI installation script is containerized and deployed as a daemonset in k8s. The relevant calico k8s manifests were used as the model for the istio-cni plugin's manifest: - [daemonset and configmap](https://docs.projectcalico.org/v3.2/getting-started/kubernetes/installation/hosted/calico.yaml) - search for the `calico-node` Daemonset and its `install-cni` container deployment

- if deployed by manifest, add env `FELIX_WORKLOADSOURCESPOOFING` with value `Any` in `spec.template.spec.containers.env` for daemonset `calico-node`. (This will allow PODs with specified annotation to skip the rpf check. ) ### GKE notes On GKE, 'kube-system' is required.
