1.  API changes require discussion, use cases, etc. Code comes later.
2.  Pull requests are great for small fixes for bugs, documentation, etc.
3.  Pull requests are not merged directly into the master branch.
4.  Code contributions require signing a Google CLA.

API changes
-----------

We make changes to Guava's public [APIs][], including adding new APIs, very

$ cd minio
$ git remote add upstream https://github.com/minio/minio
$ git fetch upstream
$ git merge upstream/master

```

### Create your feature branch

Before making code changes, make sure you create a separate branch for these changes

```
git checkout -b my-new-feature
```

### Test MinIO server changes

After your code changes, make sure

    its dependencies and the rest of the system.
-   Rarely, If the tests fail at this stage, we cannot merge the code.
-   If needed, we may come to you to make some changes. At times, it may not be
    you, it may be us who may have hit a snag. Please be patient while we work
    to fix this.
-   Once the internal tests pass, we go ahead and merge the code internally as
    well as externally on GitHub.
