## About security, APIs, and docs { #about-security-apis-and-docs } Hiding your documentation user interfaces in production *shouldn't* be the way to protect your API. That doesn't add any extra security to your API, the *path operations* will still be available where they are. If there's a security flaw in your code, it will still exist.

That same information from the models that is included in OpenAPI is what can be used to **generate the client code**. ### Hey API { #hey-api } Once we have a FastAPI app with the models, we can use Hey API to generate a TypeScript client. The fastest way to do that is via npx. ```sh npx @hey-api/openapi-ts -i http://localhost:8000/openapi.json -o src/client ```

docs/en/docs/alternatives.md
The main feature I wanted from Django REST Framework was the automatic API documentation. Then I found that there was a standard to document APIs, using JSON (or YAML, an extension of JSON) called Swagger. And there was a web user interface for Swagger APIs already created. So, being able to generate Swagger documentation for an API would allow using this web user interface automatically.

By considering these concepts, you will be able to **evaluate and design** the best way to deploy **your own APIs**. In the next chapters, I'll give you more **concrete recipes** to deploy FastAPI applications. But for now, let's check these important **conceptual ideas**. These concepts also apply to any other type of web API. 💡 ## Security - HTTPS { #security-https }
