As the type, put the `List` that you imported from `typing`.

As the list is a type that contains some internal types, you put them in square brackets:

Those internal types in the square brackets are called "type parameters".

In this case, `str` is the type parameter passed to `List` (or `list` in Python 3.9 and above).

        assertTrue(actualString.endsWith("]"), "The string representation should end with a bracket.");

* If you are in a Python version lower than 3.9, import their equivalent version from the `typing` module
* Pass the internal type(s) as "type parameters" using square brackets: `[` and `]`

In Python 3.9 it would be:

In versions of Python before 3.9, it would be:

<a href="#Keywords">keyword</a> and the opening brace of the block
of an "if", "for", or "switch" statement, and the composite literal
is not enclosed in parentheses, square brackets, or curly braces.
In this rare case, the opening brace of the literal is erroneously parsed
as the one introducing the block of statements. To resolve the ambiguity,
the composite literal must appear within parentheses.
