Files in this directory are data for Go's API checker ("go tool api", in src/cmd/api).

Each file is a list of API features, one per line.

go1.txt (and similarly named files) are frozen once a version has been
shipped. Each file adds new lines but does not remove any.

except.txt lists features that may disappear without breaking true
compatibility.

Starting with go1.19.txt, each API feature line must end in "#nnnnn"

### Things to know

- Fields such as `version` and `pools` are mandatory, however all other fields are optional.
- Each pool expects a minimum of 2 nodes per pool, and unique non-repeating hosts for each argument.
- Each pool expects each host in this pool has the same number of drives specified as any other host.

The project state is managed by the `ProjectState` class.
It is created for each project in the build definition, once per build execution and is discarded at the end of the execution.

## Composition by architecture modules

Each [architecture module and platform](platforms.md) can contribute code to any of the elements.
Not every module contributes to every element.

These are all Java processes. Each process has a corresponding "runtime".
All source code in Gradle is written to target one or more of these runtimes.
Most source code targets the daemon and the remaining code either targets a single runtime, for example the Gradle client, or is shared across multiple runtimes.

## Composition by architecture modules

And Swagger UI has supported this particular `examples` field for a while. So, you can use it to **show** different **examples in the docs UI**.

The shape of this OpenAPI-specific field `examples` is a `dict` with **multiple examples** (instead of a `list`), each with extra information that will be added to **OpenAPI** too.
