## What Does Deployment Mean { #what-does-deployment-mean }

To **deploy** an application means to perform the necessary steps to make it **available to the users**.

For a **web API**, it normally involves putting it in a **remote machine**, with a **server program** that provides good performance, stability, etc, so that your **users** can **access** the application efficiently and without interruptions or problems.

That would generate a `dict` with only the data that was set when creating the `item` model, excluding default values.

Then you can use this to generate a `dict` with only the data that was set (sent in the request), omitting default values:

## Future { #future }

By this point, it's already clear that **FastAPI** with its ideas is being useful for many people.

It is being chosen over previous alternatives for suiting many use cases better.

Many developers and teams already depend on **FastAPI** for their projects (including me and my team).
