ولی قبل از اون، مدیریت کد ناهمزمان خیلی پیچیدهتر و سختتر بود. توی نسخههای قبلی پایتون، میتونستی از نخها یا <a href="https://www.gevent.org/" class="external-link" target="_blank">Gevent</a> استفاده کنی. ولی کد خیلی پیچیدهتر میشه برای فهمیدن، دیباگ کردن و فکر کردن بهش. توی نسخههای قبلی NodeJS / جاوااسکریپت مرورگر، از "کالبکها" استفاده میکردی. که میرسید به "جهان کالبکها".
