## Deprecating parameters { #deprecating-parameters }

Now let's say you don't like this parameter anymore.

You have to leave it there a while because there are clients using it, but you want the docs to clearly show it as <abbr title="obsolete, recommended not to use it">deprecated</abbr>.

`Query`, `Path`, and other classes you will see later are subclasses of a common `Param` class.

All of them share the same parameters for additional validation and metadata you have seen.

When you import `Query`, `Path` and others from `fastapi`, they are actually functions.

**FastAPI** wouldn't exist if not for the previous work of others.

There have been many tools created before that have helped inspire its creation.

I have been avoiding the creation of a new framework for several years. First I tried to solve all the features covered by **FastAPI** using many different frameworks, plug-ins, and tools.

The same way, you could have some dependencies with `yield` and some other dependencies with `return`, and have some of those depend on some of the others.

And you could have a single dependency that requires several other dependencies with `yield`, etc.

You can have any combinations of dependencies that you want.

     * Used for compilation, execution and Javadoc among others.
     * The Java tools location is {@link StandardLocation#CLASS_PATH}.

### Base Docker Image { #base-docker-image }

There used to be an official FastAPI Docker image: <a href="https://github.com/tiangolo/uvicorn-gunicorn-fastapi-docker" class="external-link" target="_blank">tiangolo/uvicorn-gunicorn-fastapi</a>. But it is now deprecated. ⛔️

You should probably **not** use this base Docker image (or any other similar one).
