### Platforms

The platforms and their architecture modules are:

#### Core automation platform

This is a general-purpose automation platform which takes care of the efficient definition and execution of work, such as tasks.
This platform is agnostic to what exactly the purpose of the work is.

### Terminology

**Public properties** are formally a part of the Public API.
Public properties are **stable properties**: they CANNOT be renamed or removed without notice.
While we normally deprecate the feature or behavior itself, changes to the property cannot happen in a minor release.
Public properties must be documented.

**Internal properties** are not part of the Public API.

We use *Specification* and *Discovery* documents stored in Google Drive, but they present some downsides:

* They are rarely updated after creation and initial review, and then become hard to follow, especially after important decisions are made
* They are not synced with the code to reflect the eventual solution that is committed
* Google Docs is not a "code-oriented" tool, like Markdown can be
