decide which. The obvious thing for cgo to do is to process the preamble, expanding #includes and processing the corresponding C code. That would require a full C parser and type checker that was also aware of any extensions known to the system compiler (for example, all the GNU C extensions) as well as the system-specific header locations and system-specific

[`httpmuxgo121` setting](/pkg/net/http/#ServeMux). Go 1.22 added the [Alias type](/pkg/go/types#Alias) to [go/types](/pkg/go/types) for the explicit representation of [type aliases](/ref/spec#Type_declarations). Whether the type checker produces `Alias` types or not is controlled by the [`gotypesalias` setting](/pkg/go/types#Alias). For Go 1.22 it defaults to `gotypesalias=0`. For Go 1.23, `gotypesalias=1` will become the default.

[time.Timer] and [time.Ticker]. First, `Timer`s and `Ticker`s that are no longer referred to by the program become eligible for garbage collection immediately, even if their `Stop` methods have not been called. Earlier versions of Go did not collect unstopped `Timer`s until after they had fired and never collected unstopped `Ticker`s. Second, the timer channel associated with a `Timer` or `Ticker` is

api/README
Files in this directory are data for Go's API checker ("go tool api", in src/cmd/api). Each file is a list of API features, one per line. go1.txt (and similarly named files) are frozen once a version has been shipped. Each file adds new lines but does not remove any. except.txt lists features that may disappear without breaking true compatibility. Starting with go1.19.txt, each API feature line must end in "#nnnnn"

Thus, we try an innocent seek to the current position // to see if Seek is really supported.
