determined by how the memory was allocated; it has nothing to do with the type of the pointer. Note that values of some Go types, other than the type's zero value, always include Go pointers. This is true of string, slice, interface, channel, map, and function types. A pointer type may hold a Go pointer or a C pointer. Array and struct types may or may not include Go

Any pointer or value of <a href="#Types">underlying type</a> <code>uintptr</code> can be converted to a type of underlying type <code>Pointer</code> and vice versa. The effect of converting between <code>Pointer</code> and <code>uintptr</code> is implementation-defined. </p>

As of Go 1.23 (`winsymlink=1`), mount points no longer have [`os.ModeSymlink`](/pkg/os#ModeSymlink) set, and reparse points that are not symlinks, Unix sockets, or dedup files now always have [`os.ModeIrregular`](/pkg/os#ModeIrregular) set. As a result of these changes, [`filepath.EvalSymlinks`](/pkg/path/filepath#EvalSymlinks) no longer evaluates mount points, which was a source of many inconsistencies and bugs.
