package provides a hook for Go toolchain programs to upload telemetry data,
  if the user has opted in to telemetry uploading.

## Gradle runtimes

Gradle is also made up of several different processes that work together to "run the build", such as the Gradle daemon and the `gradlew` command.

Each process, or "runtime", applies different constraints to the code that runs in that process.
For example, each process has different supported JVMs and a different set of services available for dependency injection.

The merge is performed in the following steps:
1. Construct the set of common code that is idential in all architecture-specific files.
2. Write this common code to the merged file.

If an accepted proposal is mentioned in a CL but not in the release notes, it will be

6.  For the mainline flavor, we test the libraries using OpenJDK 8, 11, and 17
    on Linux, with some additional testing on newer JDKs and on Windows. Some
    features, especially in `com.google.common.io`, may not work correctly in
    non-Linux environments. For the Android flavor, our unit tests also run on
    API level 21 (Lollipop).
