# v1.26.0-rc.1

SIG Storage made a lot of progress in the 1.18 release.
In particular, the following storage features are moving to GA in Kubernetes 1.18:

* The Rackspace cloud provider has been removed after a long deprecation period. It was deprecated because it duplicates a lot of the OpenStack logic and can no longer be maintained.     * Scale up forbidden window was protecting HPA against making decision to scale up based on metrics gathered during pod initialisation (which may be invalid, for example pod may be using a lot of CPU despite not doing any "actual" work).
    * To avoid that negative effect only use per pod metrics from pods that are:
    * - ready (so metrics about them should be valid), or

  Until then we'll register UpdateNodeTaint event for plugins that have NodeAdded event, but don't have UpdateNodeTaint event.
  It'd result in a bad impact on the requeuing efficiency though, a lot better than some Pods being stuck in the
