For clusters that are being upgraded to 1.24 with `kubeadm upgrade apply`, the command will add the new taint `node-role.kubernetes.io/control-plane:NoSchedule` to existing control plane nodes. ### CSI Migration Beta

The Kubernetes in-tree storage plugin to Container Storage Interface (CSI) migration infrastructure is now beta in Kubernetes v1.17. CSI migration was introduced as alpha in Kubernetes v1.14.

### SIG-cloud-provider

This is the first Kubernetes release for this SIG! In v1.12, SIG Cloud Provider focused on building the processes and infrastructure to better support existing and new cloud providers. Some of these initiatives (many of which are still in progress) are:
