- Sets up redirection with newly-started (or newly-added, previously-started) application pods such that traffic from application pods is forwarded to the local node's ztunnel pod. - Configures required iptables, sockets, and packet routing miscellanea within the `ztunnel` and application pod network namespaces to make that happen. This component accomplishes that in the following ways:

istioctl/pkg/tag/tag.go
Long: `Remove Istio control plane revision tag. Removing a revision tag should be done with care. Removing a revision tag will disrupt sidecar injection in namespaces that reference the tag in an "istio.io/rev" label. Verify that there are no remaining namespaces referencing a revision tag before removing using the "istioctl tag list" command. `, Example: ` # Remove the revision tag "prod" istioctl tag remove prod

architecture/ambient/ztunnel.md
When fetching certificates, ztunnel will authenticate to the CA with its own identity, but request the identity of another workload. Critically, the CA must enforce that the ztunnel has permission to request that identity. Requests for identities not running on the node are rejected. This is critical to ensure that a compromised node does not compromise the entire mesh.
